SHUSH DEAR

Tumblr can be such a pain to use. It's constantly working itself into all these problems! Right now, I really wanna post some crappy photo quality sketches of mine but the site's not responding. >:I I have lots of sketches that I really like but I don't feel like I'm not gonna immediately go ahead and edit to make them look more presentable in colour so I just use a camera rather than the scanner all the way in a downstairs office (so lazy~ =_=). Looks like I can't even post them on Blogger... Guess it kinda works out to be my fault for being so lazy or too much of a perfectionist in the end, huh? ^_^; How irksome.

It's happening again~

Well, I starting cosplaying! And it's an amazing experience! I got into the whole thing earlier this year when I went to the Supernova convention earlier this year in ordinary dress. And I felt so very left out... ;A;
SO, I set about trying to think of a cosplay until Animania hit. I went as Dawn from Pokemon. I must say though, Diamond and Pearl wasn't my favourite Pokemon series being the nostalgic person that I can be but I did like Dawn's character design even though her skirt was somewhat ridiculously short for a, what, 10 year old? Since this was pretty much my first ever cosplaying attempt and I have this sort of almost religious belief of a cosplay needing to have some hand-made quality to it, I put together the skirt from a normal skirt pattern with some tweaks of my own and worked out the hat from some beanie tutorials from some very wise people from deviant art. I needed a lot of help from my mother in following the pattern even though I have been attending textiles studies classes in school, though truthfully, they were teaching the same things as they did 2 years earlier when I when I was at the school.

Mein Gott, (I love that song!) I'm procrastinating so much right now when I should be writing my SOSE essay... I have hardly any self discipline left in me and it feels terrible. I'm stopping now.

NINOKUNI 'The Another World'

One day, not long ago while browsing youtube.com, I came across an interesting video under the tag of Level 5. Turns out that they had a hand in making a game by the name of 'Ni no kuni: The Another World'. The story is a about a boy named Oliver (who the player will play as) who lives with his mother until she suddenly dies. He is then accompanied by his stuffed toy (made by his mother) turned into magical companion who leads him into the fantasy world of the Another World, the universe parallel to his own. There, he embarks on the quest of reviving his beloved mother. Very simplistic overview of story. Heck, even I'm not sure if that's how the story goes.
The game itself looked interesting and beautiful in the trailers as well as through the screens of RPG game play. The beautiful, movie-quality, fully voiced animated cut scenes were just one of the things done with the help of the famous Studio Ghibli (as well as the rumored fully orchestrated music by Joe Hisaishi) though the cut scenes do remind me a little of Level 5's Professor Layton series. So far, we've seen the use of a rune book system where the player draws runes from a book, as well as turn based battling similar to Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy.
The game has that iconic and much loved Ghibli feel and style. Though I'm not one to usually go out and buy a turn based RPG, Ni no Kuni looks like a game to get excited about.
The release date for Australia, yet alone the US, is yet to be confirmed as the original Japanese version of the game set on the release date of Spring 2010.
